When you are doing grocery shopping at Tesco, have you ever wondered how did that jar of peanut butter get to the shelf? As a manager, are you thinking how many jars are you going to place for your next order? Is this product generating profit for your business?
Even for a little product like a jar of peanut butter, it involves a series of supply chain management. In today’s class, we are fortunate to have our guest speaker Mr. Dave Food to share his insights on supply chain management.
Drawing different real business examples from Dell, Amazon, Innocent Drinks, and Tesco, Mr Food demonstrated the complexity and importance of supply chain to a business. In addition, the in class example helped the students get a better understanding of the demand management and predictive trade optimization.
As a bonus for the MBA class, Mr Food gave 5 pieces of advice on what skills are the employers looking for:
- Working with a multicultural team
- Dealing with difficult people
Mr. David Food and Prof. Adrain Coronado.
